Mapesil Stone MATT

A neutral-cure, mildew-resistant silicone sealant with a matte finish, designed for use on stone and marble. Mapei matte stone sealant is a single-component, solvent-free, neutral-cure silicone sealant with a thixotropic paste consistency, suitable for application on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. The product allows for easy smoothing and finishing, even on joints with complex shapes.

Major Applications

• Natural stone: Marble, granite, limestone, travertine, slate, etc.
• Various porous and non-porous building materials: Concrete, brickwork, ceramics, metal, glass, painted surfaces, etc.
• Interior stone flooring and wall surfaces: Marble TV feature walls, stone flooring, and expansion joints or internal corner joints on stair treads.
• Wet areas and bathrooms: Waterproof sealing for bathrooms, shower enclosures, kitchen stone countertops, washbasins, and areas surrounding bathroom fixtures.
• Building facades and curtain walls: Expansion joints between stone facades, ventilated facades, and precast concrete panels.
• Perimeter sealing for door and window frames: Joint sealing where frames adjoin stone, marble, or brickwork.

Chemical Composition: Neutral silicone.

Appearance/Texture: Matte finish; specific colors also available with a rough, textured finish.

Environmental & Safety Certification: Solvent-free and MEKO-free; requires no hazard warning labels on packaging, ensuring greater safety for installers. GEV EMICODE EC1 Plus certified (very low VOC emissions), meeting green building standards for indoor air quality.

Application Temperature Range: +5°C to +35°C.

Skin-over Time: Approx. 15–20 minutes (depending on ambient temperature and humidity).

Slump: 0 mm (high viscosity; does not sag on vertical surfaces and is easy to tool/shape).

Shore A Hardness: Approx. 20–25 (low modulus and low hardness, maintaining excellent flexibility).

Movement Capability: ±25%; effectively accommodates joint movement caused by temperature fluctuations or structural settlement.

Elastic Recovery: > 80%.

Temperature Resistance: -40°C to +150°C; withstands extreme outdoor climates and underfloor heating systems. Mold & Algae Resistance: Contains high-performance biocides, making it ideal for high-humidity areas such as bathrooms and showers.
